Year 2 have been working on writing rhythms using ‘Ta’ and ‘Te-Te’.
They have been showing the rhythm of songs using their bodies first then writing them down.
We played a game where they created their own rhythm using their bodies and their friends clapped the rhythm that they were presenting.
This Kodaly method of rhythm writing is very accessible, and I am always so impressed to see it in action as it enables the children to instantly grasp what otherwise could feel like a tricky concept.
