Last Friday, 13 September, pupils came to the Library at lunchtime to celebrate Roald Dahl Day. The annual event, which coincides with Roald’s birthday, features a different theme every year. This year Matilda was chosen, so pupils enjoyed creating and decorating Trunchbull-terrifying newts! They also enjoyed decorating Matilda-themed bookmarks, completing wordsearches and exploring the display of Roald Dahl books.
After lunchtime, 3RA enjoyed a special treat of coming to the Library. After an induction session, where pupils could borrow a book of their choice, they heard the first chapter of their new class book: George’s Marvellous Medicine.
Thank you to all the pupils who took part in the day, and to Miss Alderton for asking me to read aloud – what a privilege!
