On Friday, Lucas T (Burton Bank) competed in the Second Regional Heats of ARTiculation at the National Gallery in London. This was after winning the first heat at the Royal Academy in January. He presented with confidence and conviction. Lucas’s speech about Alexander McQueen’s collection Highland Rape raises important questions about the meaning, awareness and platform offered by fashion as an art form. Although he has not gone through to the final, we are proud of his achievements.
Lower Sixth artists joined Lucas on Friday to be a supportive and enthusiastic audience. In addition, we visited the Mall Galleries and La Galleria, Pall Mall to supplement our art coursework, finding some inspiring artworks and with Laura M even purchasing an artwork to take home!
