Belmontians Thrive Outside the Classroom!

Our pupils have been incredibly busy outside of school. We are extremely impressed with their various achievements and would like to share them with you.

On Sunday 9 October, Charlie (7GP), Freddie (7NB), Ellis (7SI), Finn (7AC) and Noah (7AM) represented Old Grammarians RFC (og_rfc) (@OG_RFC) in the Amersham & Chiltern U12 Rugby Tournament. The boys continued their undefeated season against all five teams, winning all their matches and being crowned tournament winners! Well done boys – this is a fantastic achievement.

A huge well done to Amelia (4TB), who competed in the David Lloyd Finchley Tennis Championships. Her hard work and talent paid off as she won not only the Under 8 events, but also the Under 9 and Under 10 events. Competing with different age groups was a wonderful experience for Amelia and we look forward to hearing about her progression.

We were extremely proud to discover Serafina’s (7SI) amazing performance at the London Young Musician Season 2. This earned her silver prizes for both excellent piano and vocals in the ‘Young Artist (Age 12 And Under)’ Category. Her musical magic led her to also win the All-Round Musician Award. On top of this, we are pleased to hear Serafina has passed her Music theory ABRSM grade 3.

A huge congratulations to Joshua (6LT) for successfully gaining a place within the National Children’s Orchestra playing Trombone for 2023. Their annual program brings together gifted young musicians and it is an exceptional achievement to be invited to join them. The audition process took place in July and was hard work, however, Joshua’s determination combined with support from Brass Music teacher, Mr Blake, was rewarded. We are really looking forward to hearing about Joshua’s fantastic experience with the NCO.

Aeson (6LT), and his family completed the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk in London, raising money for the cause. Memory walk is a series of sponsored walks which unites thousands of people to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. It is very special to see Aeson and his family support such a wonderful charity.

Congratulations to Maxwell (6LT) for passing his recent Lamda Exam with a distinction. This is a great achievement, and we know it is an extremely enjoyable experience for our pupils. We hope Maxwell continues to go from strength to strength!

Well done to Anne (8RA) who has participated in a charity activity for providing food to people experiencing homelessness. She has also in the Young Actors Theatre just before the half term. Keep up the amazing work Anne!

Nepheli (8JI) participated over the half term in the 10th International Half Night Marathon running the 5Km race and raising money for local charity “Smile of a Child” dealing with abused and abandoned children. She came 9th out of the 41 girls within her age group that participated in the race. Well done Nepheil!
