Sports Day 2024

Mill Hill’s sports day commenced with a series of team sports competitions on Monday morning, ensuring that every pupil in each house had the opportunity to participate. These team events fostered a sense of unity and collaboration, setting a positive tone for the following individual heats. In the exhilarating heats on Monday, students from various year groups competed with determination to secure their places in the highly anticipated finals scheduled for Friday. The range of events included sprints, jumps and throws, each showcasing the athletic prowess and commitment of the participants.

The energy and enthusiasm were palpable throughout the day, with numerous standout performances and personal bests being recorded. Milo R (Weymouth) was awarded the Victor Ludorum for his outstanding performance in the Shot Put. Milo’s effort of 14.3 metres saw him outperform all other age groups, taking him to 5th in the country. Milo is ranked in the top 10 in the country for three events: Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer. We wish him the best of luck at the English Schools’ Track and Field Championships in Birmingham in July, where he will compete in the Hammer competition.

For the first time ever, the finals day on Friday marked the culmination of Foundation Day. Families, friends, staff members and Old Millhillians gathered to offer their support, creating a vibrant and encouraging environment in the sun on Top-field. Participants showcased their talents and sportsmanship, contributing to a memorable and inspiring event for the entire school community. By the end of the day, Cedars House emerged as the overall winner, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and athletic skill.
