GCSE Results Day Success

We are delighted to share our fantastic GCSE results today. They are a tribute to the talent and hard work of this year’s Fifth Form pupils, and to the dedicated teaching staff who supported them.

As with our A Levels last week, these results represent a significant increase on recent years and reflect the trajectory of rapid improvement here at Mill Hill School.

A detailed breakdown per subject can be found here. Highlights include;

  • 65% of all grades were ‘high grades’ of 9-7 (equivalent of A*/A). This was an increase of 7% compared with last year.
  • 40% of all grades were 9/8 and 18% were grade 9 – again, these numbers are up significantly on last year.
  • The overwhelming majority (94%) of grades were 9-5 (a grade 5 is considered a ‘strong pass’ at GCSE).

There are many individual successes contained in the results, and overall the cohort has performed extremely well. We are excited to see what they will do in the next stage. Some notable achievements are;

  • Julie M (Atkinson) achieved 10 grade 9s
  • Xarina K (Cedars) and Edie W (Atkinson) achieved 8 grade 9s
  • Alex B (Atkinson) and Oscar S (Murray) achieved 7 grade 9s
  • Luca C (Weymouth), Pheobe L (School), Mathis M (Murray), Terry N (Weymouth) and Jessica S (McClure) all achieved 6 grade 9s
  • A quarter of all pupils had 7 grades at 8-9

We wish every congratulations to all Fifth Formers on their results today. We hope you have a restful end to the holiday and we look forward to seeing many of you for the start of their A Level journey in September.
