Freddie’s success reflects his dedication, strong work ethic, and passion for the sport. Alongside his school commitments, he has been training hard and striving to improve. Earning a place in the GB squad is a fantastic accomplishment that highlights his commitment and talent.

We caught up with Freddie to hear more about his journey, from the moment he received the exciting news to the lessons he has learned along the way.

What was your initial reaction when you found out you were selected for the GB American Football squad?
“I was so happy. I instantly told my mum, and she started screaming!”

Can you describe a particularly memorable game or moment in your journey to joining the GB squad?
“The U19 GB trial squad played the NFL Academy in a practice game. It was an honour to play against guys that have D1 college offers, and it made me realise what I want to achieve.”

What advice would you give to younger pupils who aspire to achieve similar success in sports?
“Just keep pushing yourself to new limits and obsess over the small things. Don’t settle for mediocrity.”

What are your long-term goals in American Football, both on and off the field?
“I’m going to try to make it into the NFL Academy and, if that works out, try to get a college offer. Other than that, I just love playing the game and I’m taking each day as it comes.”
