Mill Hill School at Rosslyn Park 7s 2025

Mill Hill School proudly entered U13, U14, U16, and U18 teams into the prestigious 2024/2025 Rosslyn Park National 7s tournament this week.

This historic competition, which has evolved into the world's largest school rugby tournament, boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1939. Initially a knock-out competition for British public schools, it has expanded to include grammar, comprehensive, and preparatory schools, as well as international teams. The tournament now sees over 15,000 boys and girls aged 11-18 competing annually.

Mill Hill's 1st VII team competed in the U18 Cup for the first time, showcasing the school's evolving rugby programme and its fruitful partnership with Saracens RFC. The dedication of our players has been exemplary. They have embraced a rigorous term of training, starting with 7am sessions in the gym and on the astro, complemented by video analysis and on-field sessions at StoneX Stadium. This intense preparation has culminated in the National 7s, marking the end of 13 tournaments, nearly 50 games, and close to 1000 points scored by our U13-U18 squads this Spring Term.

We are immensely proud of our pupils' commitment to the 7s programme. Highlights of the season include victories against some of the top rugby teams in the country, such as Whitgift, Oakham, Marlborough, Millfield, and Wellington. Watching our players push themselves both physically and mentally to deliver outstanding performances at the National 7s has been incredibly rewarding. Additionally, the tournament has provided a fantastic opportunity for our rugby players to make new friends and memories, watch lots of high-quality rugby, and pick up merchandise from several official partners, including Gilbert Rugby, Mill Hill School's very own sportswear suppliers.

A massive thank you goes to our Head of Athletic Development, Owen Nicholls, our Sports Therapist, Ellie Pritchard, and our Head of Performance Rugby, Chris Bajak, along with our dedicated 7s coaches. Their unwavering support, often sacrificing mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, has prepared our players for an enjoyable season. Learn more about our dedicated team here.

Looking Ahead

Looking forward, we are excited to organise our U15 Rugby and Netball tour to Dubai in October 2025 and our U16-U18 Rugby and Hockey tour to Australia in June 2026.

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce our first-ever mixed tag rugby summer festival, set to run at lunchtimes for our U14-U18 rugby-playing boys and girls during the summer term.

Mill Hill School continues to foster a proud, strong rugby culture, and we are excited about the future developments and opportunities for our rugby-playing boys and girls.
