- Inaugural Scholars' Symposium 2024
The inaugural Scholars' Symposium brought together all of Mill Hill's academic scholars to explore questions surrounding artificial intelligence.
The afternoon began with Mr Traeger (History & Politics) delivering a lecture on Thinking About Thinking Machines. This was followed by a variety of staff- and pupil-led workshops.
For those interested in STEM subjects, sessions ranged from Mr Kyles-Brown's exploration of Quantum Consciousness to presentations by prospective medics on Medical Use Cases of AI.
In the Humanities, workshops offered discussions on topics such as Intelligent Cities and mock trials examining Individual Property Rights and Deep Fakes.
The event concluded with a brilliant and informative keynote presentation on Human Development in the Age of AI by journalist Alex Beard.
The entire afternoon was a unique opportunity to blend academic disciplines, allowing scholars of all age groups to interact, discuss, and think critically about an issue that will shape our age.
