1. Location, Space and Facilities

We have a world class learning environment. Few schools can boast the setting, facilities and sheer space that Mill Hill has to offer, all within easy reach of Central London.

Our school offers the best of both worlds – the vibrant city life and the tranquillity and safety of the countryside. We benefit from our own dedicated site on the Mill Hill Schools campus, which occupies over 150 acres of beautiful grounds.

We have top of the range sports facilities, complete with a full gym and swimming pool, along with an in-depth library, fantastic Music studios, state-of-the-art Science labs, Cookery rooms, a theatre with a sound and lightbox and a dedicated Sixth Form centre.

2. Academically Aspirational

Our school’s academic rigour and support sets us apart, with a wide choice of subjects that caters to the needs of our diverse student body. With that, our unique setting, history and culture allows us to recruit and retrain the very best teachers in the UK, allowing us to have a talented, dedicated team of teachers. We consistently demonstrate impressive academic results, with students achieving the necessary grades needed for their next step in their educational journey.

3. Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our students is at the core of everything we do. We have an intricate web of support systems in place, ensuring that each student feels valued and cared for.

We also have a historic House system that creates smaller communities, with an average of 80 pupils per House, of pupils and teachers within the School. It deepens our culture in many and varies ways, bringing opportunities for pupils to develop a wide range of talents. Your child's House Master will be a key figure throughout their education.

4. Extensive co-curricular activities and leadership opportunities

“The co-curricular programme engenders pupils’ interests as well as develops pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding. This is a significant strength of the school.” - ISI Inspection Report 2024

Participation in the co-curricular and leadership opportunities is a vital part of every pupil’s experience at the School. We encourage pupils to explore new interests and skills which will change them and stay with them for life. With such a vast offering, from Astronomy Club to Video production, from Rugby to Jazz Band, there is something for everyone. If pupils express a new interest and wish to make a club, we will make happen.

Being a small school has the advantage that there are many more opportunities to be selected for leadership roles. From being appointed Prefect to representing the Student Council, there is something for everyone to leave their mark at the School.

5. Boarding

We welcome full and weekly boarders from many backgrounds and locations, in the UK and around the world. While our Houses have rich histories and traditions, our boarding model is modern and non-hierarchical.

All boarders come together as a wider community for breakfast and supper. They also get involved with a variety of evening and weekend activities, society meetings, creative and academic workshops, and trips in and around London.

7. The Mill Hill Journey

Upon joining Mill Hill in Year 9, pupils will be contributing to a rich and diverse community of children attending the School. We operate a traditional Senior School model, taking students from Year 9-13. This means Year 7 and 8 pupils can flourish in our excellent Prep School, Belmont, leaving Mill Hill to have more of a 'high school' feel to it.

Our educational philosophy is based on offering breadth and balance, complementing the academic with the co-curricular, the technological with the traditional and individuality with the community. We believe this prepares our pupils well for their next steps and is reflected in the diversity of our pupils' journeys beyond Mill Hill. Here, pupils will be encouraged to find and develop their passions.
