Music at Mill Hill
The McClure Music School offers a vibrant and inclusive co-curricular music programme, providing opportunities for all musicians, from beginners to pre-professionals, to flourish. We have a specialist team of Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) who are leading artists in the profession, and pupils participate in memorable performances, including national and international tours and concerts. With over 230 concerts and services each year, our ethos is both inclusive and aspirational, offering formal and informal performance opportunities that inspire a lifelong love of music
Diverse Performance Spectrum
Mill Hill sets itself apart by hosting over 150 diverse performances annually, showcasing a range of musical genres from Chapel Choir services and termly concerts to jazz, rock, and pop evenings. The inclusion of performing at renowned London venues like Burgh House, Holy Trinity Sloane Square, and the 606 Club in Chelsea enhances the musical experiences for our pupils.
World-class Music Facilities
Our Music department contains a bespoke setup with a large recital hall, rehearsal space, 18 practice rooms, and two fully equipped academic music classrooms. The inclusion of Music software/Macs, music offices, and a storage facility ensures an environment for pupils to maximise their musical talents.
Inclusive Music Community & Unique Experience
We also have an extended Music community composed of Mill Hill Schools’ Group parent and staff choral society and our newly formed Mill Hill Community Orchestra. This collaborative effort extends beyond our school, partnering with Belmont, Grimsdell, and local schools.
Global Musical Exploration
Mill Hill runs national and international music tours, offering pupils the opportunity to explore and perform in diverse locations. Recent destinations were Paris, Rome, and Cornwall in the UK.
